Fishing is a passion and promotion of a healthy mind for many. What drives your passion?
Is it the sense of pride and feeling of accomplishment? You must learn to bait your own hook, cast your own fishing pole and release your own fish? Fishing, when done with the right focus, is a confidence builder.
Is it the challenge of the sport? You must learn to present your bait in a way that makes the fish want to eat it. You then must set the hook, keep tension on the line and catch the fish. Anglers spend a lifetime mastering these skills and learn something new every day.
Is it the patience you must learn and continue to apply in order to improve? Fishing may be one of the best practices to improve our patience and it will humble you. Will you give up? Or will you try a new tactic, return another day, or practice more?
Is it the preparation? Your equipment must be kept orderly and ready. Just as important you must study the water and learn where the fish are.
Is it the beauty of your surroundings? Water is located everywhere, and beautiful natural landscapes generally accompany it.
Is it the peace and quiet? Fishing provides a time and place that allows you to unwind and to just think.
Is it the time spent with family and friends? The great thing about fishing is you can enjoy it by yourself or with family and friends. Many relationships have been formed and strengthened on the water.
Whether it’s all of these, a few of these, or some other reason; every passionate fisher man and woman knows that ultimately ”It’s not the fish you’re after….”
Fishing is a natural recharging station for your mind!
